Yesterday evening I hung out with my friend Andrew at the Kate Spade Pop-up Shop. The shop/tour bus was located at the Gansevoort Plaza in the Meat Packing District. Vivian Girls performed to kickoff Kate Spade’s 2012 Spring Campaign, which is debuting its newest print of the season, Florence Broadurst’s Japanese floral.
As you can see, the band was decked out in Kate Spade’s line. I’ve never purchased a Kate Spade product but this makes me want to buy their dresses.
This was my first time hearing them – I am very bad at knowing a lot of musicians so bare with me. Based on my first experience, I am definitely going to check out more of their work. They sound so good and their performance was great especially since they had to endure the cold and brief snow.
Anyways, just before the performance started, my Canon 40D crapped out. The flash wouldn’t fire, and the camera would not shoot unless it was on live mode. Also, the light meter had a mind of its own. I had to put my Olympus EP2 to the test.
It did a decent job but the quality doesn’t deliver as well as the 40D. At least I got to learn more about its limitations and I am glad that I had it on me.
Thankfully, my 40D doing is fine but it looks like I am going to have to fight with Best Buy on getting it checked out (a whole ‘nother story).
